We got the sad news today that Nicola Sturgeon will no longer be able to make it to the Scottish Assembly for Tackling Poverty on Monday.
We are happy to announce that Nicola will be replaced by Margaret Burgess, Minister for Housing and Welfare.
Margaret was elected in 2011 to represent Cunninghame South in the Scottish Parliament. She quickly established herself as a capable and effective MSP for Irvine, Kilwinning and Stevenston and gained a reputation for her speeches and interventions in debates on housing and welfare issues.
After only one year in the Parliament, the local MSP became a member of the Scottish Government as Minister for Housing and Welfare. Her remit includes housing, communities, anti-poverty measures and welfare.
Margaret will be speaking at the 4th Scottish Assembly for Tackling Poverty 2013 on Monday 25th of March 2013 in Mitchell Library, Glasgow
